Poem
ON A BEACH
In the short breaks between two musical hits
I can hear the sea's rumble here on the beach.
In much the same way, if we pause for awhile
from the day-to-day life's agitation
and listen with positive attention to our own inside,
we can hear a kind of murmur
that seems to be like waves,
perhaps a bit more discreet,
but just as intense.
People, who relish sunbathing,
savor the music,
as much as they enjoy the water,
the sun, the sand and the unique breeze.
It is a community of souls
that overpasses any code of rules,
under a sky crossed by fugitive clouds,
sometimes by small hired planes
trailing advertisements,
seen here on earth,
where the sea insists on
its usual fight
with the shore.
