      ODD COLOURED SHOES

      she is an artist
      in herself with
      odd coloured shoes
      and paint splashed smock

      and a smile
      painted on her pale face

      her tinted hair
      astonishingly pink

      he smiles and says
      “I only saw you
      last week”

      and I think of
      coincidence

      and attach it to one
      person being attracted to another

      and predict a romance
      coloured red

      beginning with a
      blank canvas

      WE MOSTLY TALKED

      Judith & I we
      walked & talked ,
      talked & shared
      conclusions about
      life

      Judith & I we
      swam, we ate
      we talked &
      laughed we sat

      & talked till
      breath1ess, we
      drank, we ate,
      we ran we grew

      close, so close
      her door & mine
      they fused

      together we walked
      through, held hands...
      and the silence
      was the best silence
      I ever heard
