Poem

A CHANCE TO SUFFER GRIEF TOO GREAT

And without her what will he do
In the end of true love's game?

      But fall apart-break in two.....
And she without him too- the same.

For death will come and take one first.....
But who? For whom the worst?

Whose heart gets broke to stay
Which one the harshest price to pay?

At the end of their long run-
The end of that long path

They long ago began as one-
Who'll be the one left cut in half

To go the road then all alone
In a crueler life to fend

In a world turned gray as stone?
Who'll be the loser in the end-

The sun then in half eclipse?
Who's the one left out in the cold

Of their one true love forever bereft
Never again to have and hold?

That's the trap of old lovers in life
That true love of a man and wife

When death ends their long affair-
One's left in the end game snare

With a grief too hard to bear.
