Poem

THE MORE NEED THERE IS, THE MORE IT IS REJECTED

My argyle years fly by secretly.
      Others lament wrongfully. I
      celebrate time. George spoke
to himself in the shower. Always
      the most important things came
to him in the water. He closed

      his eyes, thought, Mother Nature
has endowed me with new thoughts
in a disorderly way. I can see
      God's purity now. George felt
a pang in his arm. His heart.
      Suddenly, succinctly he passed

on the floor by the drain of his
      enormous shower stall. When wife
Linda heard him talking while he
bathed she snuck out to do some
shopping at the local plaza. She
      usually lasted an afternoon there.

The kids had moved to Switzerland.
The dog, a huge Lab slept a lot.
As time wore on, George felt love.
In his death he did not know where
that lot came from. An eon smile
came to his soul. He spoke again,

Man is just a passage for food. I
feel no need anymore for it. I
just want to talk and talk to my
self. Not the world. The world
is too full of food to understand
that finally I have found love.
