      ROUND & ROUND

      (to Brett)

      Staggering, a
      great height,
      he grins in
      half circumference.

      Body taught,
      straight like a
      born arrow

      he rides the
      black machine,
      revs, liking
      the vibrations

      of his own
      voice, and
      grins, yet again.
      The circumference
      complete.

      IT TAKES TIME

      to unravel the memories,
      kind looks and
      concerned eyes
      hover over me

      It takes that
      much time to
      ease them

      I walk past
      the flower pot
      in the foyer
      all smiles

      I'd done it again
      held my fears
      in the handkerchief
      of my heart.
