      CITY SHAME

      What law do you represent?
      Bully ignorance of citizens
take what little they have the in name of the law
      deprive a family supper.

      Tell us your game
how do you play the lawmen
      treat mothers like criminals
      all because they innocently sweat
      to feed this city's children.

Why do you steal her wares
deny her rights to be heard?
      Check your skin
      check your common sense
      you're no better than she
      Melanesians to the bone

      Under one flag
      under one sun

      Papua New Guinea
      yet you pretend the master
      hide behind your prejudice
      be mothers like criminals
      in broad daylight
      in tourists' eyes
      city shame,
      I am ashamed
how can you define equal rights?

      POEM ON CURRENT EVENTS

Old truths never. . , spoke
      all eyes have seen
      words fail to say
now turn blunt and harsh at us in tapping beat.
      All women are blest
      all girls are too
      children of God.
Your time is my time now
democracy is how this very day.
So you see no judging please
wipe it off on relationships. How little difference it
      make?
      I say,
No more tears on girls eyes
      No more battered wives
      No more broken hearts

      POLGAMY UNDERFIRE!
that's the difference it will make.
