      FAMILY REUNION

      Oil the hinges
      of all the screen doors.

      Bring out the china
      and the inflatable pools.

      Sweep the family histories
      under the prized brown rug.

Make sure that they stay there
      so we can make more.

      WHAT THE SIDEWALK SALESMAN SEES

when he does not close his eyes
      against the smoke and dust

      is a parade of shadows--
      all squat and flat
      in their search for depth.
