Poems

      Poem 1 - DEPARTURE

      Empty, Coathangers
      clash, echo in the closet
      He will never return

      I walk in spring
      lightness of barefeet
      after a winter
      of boots

      Poem 2 - URBAN RIOT

      Gathering at busStops
      Challenging synthetics resistance
      with steady persistance
      An army of drops
      changes the streets
      into islands and oceans

      Soggy shoes grace unhurried feet
      Ushered into motion
      As rain takes reign
(Thank god i remembered to forget my umbrella)

      Poem 3 - HASTINGS STREET

Sadness stands on the street corner,
      asking for money.
      It's cold
      and he has only
      one arm.
Our coins are not the sun,
      our coins are not kisses.
      This is the way
      the world
      fails itself.

Poem 4 - MAP OF THE HEART

      What are you thinking
      when you buy a painting?
      What are you thinking
      when you buy a gun?

The night is full of ambulances and dreamers.

I think the meaning of life
      is to shed our armour:
that's why I navigate my heart
      to paper,
      that's why
      we risk
      diaries, beds and kisses.
