About the Authors

BETTY ANN MATTHEWS lives and writes in Nelson, New Zealand. Her work has been published widely in New Zealand.
PETER DE VRIES has published poetry and short stories in a variety of national and international newspapers and journals, including The Australian, Zuzu Petals Quarterly and Social Alternatives. His novel, THE GAMES was published by Zeresky Press in 2003.
KATHERINE PIRNIE lives and writes in the UK.
RADI RADEV is a 27-year old science fiction writer from Bulgaria. His stories and articles have appeared in many magazines internationally. His first book, A Man Without Magic was published in February.
G EMIL REUTTER is from the Philadelphia Pennsylvania area. His work has been published in print at New Vantage magazine in the UK and online at Velvetilusion. The Stump, Underobstruction and Wild and Whirling words.
DAVE PRESCOTT lives and writes in USA.

JAN FITZGERALD was born in 1950 and published in NZ literary journals under maiden name, Jan Coad. More recently accepted/published by Poetry NZ, Takahe, Bravado, Spin, kokako, brief, Valley Micropress. Winner, Rotorua Daily Post Short Story 2000, third place getter, Whakatane Friends of the Library Short Story 2004. Multi finalist in BOP Telecom Arts Awards. Workd in a Tauranga hospital.
JOHN TERRY'S poetry has appeared in Coal City Review, Headrush and Icebox. Short fiction will soon appear in Minima and Diagram. He lives in USA.
KERRIE McMILLAN is a resident of Australia.
FRASER SUTHERLAND is a Canadian poet, editor and lexicographer who has published 11 books, most recently Peace and War (poems, with Goran Simic).
RUTH ARNISON was born in Oamaru, New Zealand and has lived in various South Island towns since, Now settled in Dunedin with Barry and their teenage sons. Her work has previously apppeared in Takahe.
DAVID McGUIGAN is an Honours Graduate who has taught Literacy and Numeracy to students in the Northern Territory for 13 years. Now living in Adelaide, He is currently studying a Graduate Diploma in Town Planning. He has had short stories and poems published in various Australian newspapers/ magazines.
GEORGE ANDERSON was born in Montreal and presently teaches in Sydney, Australia. He has published dozens of poems recently in a variety of publications worldwide; including- New England Review, LINQ, Divan, Five Bells, Muse Apprentice Guild, Stylus Literary Journal, Australian Reader, Social Alternatives, Zygote in My Coffee, The School Magazine and Another Toronto Quarterly and several others. He edits the student literary magazine Ephemeral.
PATRICIA PRIME is an Auckland editor, poet and anthologist, widely published in New Zealand and overseas.
PETER OLDS is a former Burns Fellow of Otago University, Dunedin, New Zealand. Since 1971 he has had poetry published in many New Zealand magazines and poetry anthologies. His selected poems was published in 2004 and was reviewed in SOR #33.
GRAEME COLLINS died in 2004, December 7th. A founder member of Dragon and other pop groups, Graeme was a well known musician and composer in Wellington for many years. Graeme was also well known as an active environmentalist who fought many causes including a campaign against damming the Lower Clutha (South Island, NZ). TREVOR REEVES: Editor and Publisher of Southern Ocean Review and poet - writer of short stories that have appeared in print and electronic magazines widely.
JUDITH WOLFE lives in Dunedin, New Zealand. She is an artist, designer and sculptor. She has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand and some of her works have been in travelling exhibitions overseas. Recent exhibitions at the Empire Cinema, guest artist at the Wanaka Art Group Exhibition, August 1997 and exhibited in the Warbirds Over Wanaka air show exhibition, Easter, 1998, and the Cleveland Art Awards, Dunedin, October 1998, and 2001 Also the Columba College exhibition 1999. Two exhibitions, 2000 and 2001 at the Community Art Gallery, Dunedin NZ.
