About the Authors

The Contributors HAYDEN WILLIAMS lives and writes in Dunedin, New Zealand.
FINBARR McCARTHY'S first book, Sydney From Below, (Lansdowne Press) explored the world of Sydney's homeless men and women. His short fiction and non fiction have been published around Australia. (Xy magazine; Northern Perspective; Integration.) Two stories have recently been translated and included in Vietnamese electronic publications. "Ice, sun", will appear in 4W, due out in November 2006.
SARAH JACKSON lives in England with her husband. She has just completed her first novel, for which she is patiently collecting rejection slips at the minute. She was recently announced as one of Legend Press' Remarkable Everyday Competition winners.
GARY LANGFORD is the author of 24 books, including 9 novels, 8 books of poetry and 3 collections of stories, the kiwi one being Lunch at the Storyteller's Restaurant, Hazard Press, 2002, (www.hazard.co.nz ), which also reflects he is now a writer who lives and writes in Christchurch and Melbourne.
BARRY SOUTHAM is a widely published writer of poetry and short stories living in Christchurch, New Zealand.
EDMOND RONAYNE lives and writes in Rotorua, New Zealand.

SUE O'NEILL is an artist and occasional writer living at Waikouaiti, Otago, New Zealand.
ADRIAN MANNING is a published poet (several books of poetry) living in England.
JENNY CLAY lives, writes and works in Auckland New Zealand. Her work has been published in Takahe, Tongue in your ear, The Daily Post, Blackmail Press and NZ Poetry Society anthologies. Also in Fugacity and Oban 06. Her first book 'Take a Leap' appeared in 2005.
ROBERT KIMSEY lives and writes in Georgia USA. His work has appeared in various publications. His collection “Paths from the Shawnee Spring” is available. He has two firsts and a second in the Kentucky Poetry Society's 2005 awards.
GLEN SORESTAD lives and writes in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada, and has over fifteen books to his credit, the latest of which is Blood & Bone, Ice & Stone(Thistledown, 2005). His poems have been translated into a half-dozen languages and have appeared in over forty anthologies and textbooks.
OLGA PAVLINOVA is a widely-published writer in Australia and has been the founder and editor of 'Swyntax' a literary journal for emerging writers. She writes poetry, fiction and the occasional travel piece for the newspapers.
VASILE BAGHIU (b.1965) lives and writes in Romania. His work has appeared in many magazines and also in translation. He works in education for health and is married with two children.
WILL FRASER lives and writes in Blackheath, NSW, Australia. His work has appeared previously in SOR.
RUTH ARNISON lives and writes in Dunedin and her work has appeared variously.
BETTY ANN MATTHEWS lives and writes in Nelson, NZ. Her work has appeared widely.
DAVE LORDAN was born in England in 1975 where he now writes and lives. He likes reading his work and is a strong performer. His work has been widely published in the UK and abroad and he has won many awards and grants. His debut collection, 'The Boy in the Ring' is due shortly.
PETER OLDS lives and writes in Dunedin New Zealand. His work has been published widely, internationally and he has received grants and the burns fellowship. He has a number of collections of his poetry published.
ALEX KEEGAN is a prolific writer in the UK, and teacher in the field of short fiction. His stories have been published widely in various publications throughout the world. He has also published several crime novels.
TREVOR REEVES: Editor and Publisher of Southern Ocean Review and poet - writer of short stories that have appeared in print and electronic magazines widely. Recent book of poetry published "The Poetry Book to Cuddle up in Bed With". Out now, "Nazi Holocaust for Beginners" with Judith Wolfe. Forthcoming, shared book, with Judith Wolfe, "Hand in Hand"
JUDITH WOLFE lives in Dunedin, New Zealand. She is an artist, designer and sculptor. She has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand and some of her works have been in travelling exhibitions overseas. Recent exhibitions at the Empire Cinema, guest artist at the Wanaka Art Group Exhibition, August 1997 and exhibited in the Warbirds Over Wanaka air show exhibition, Easter, 1998, and the Cleveland Art Awards, Dunedin, October 1998, and 2001 Also the Columba College exhibition 1999. Three exhibitions, 2000, 2001 and 2003 at the Community Art Gallery, Dunedin NZ. Prolific book illustrator including "In the Grip of Evil" Reeves/Wolfe, History of Cobb and co and Dear Pal (stories of the Maniototo).
