About the Authors

HAYDEN WILLIAMS is a Welshman currently studying English at Otago University, Dunedin. He has published several short stories in Takahe and New Zealand Woman's Weekly as well as in recent issues of S.O.R. and Deep South. He is a fiction sub-editor for Deep South, and his non-fiction writing has appeared in The Rotorua Review, Runner's World Australia and The Critic.
ALEX KEEGAN is a prolific writer in the UK, and teacher in the field of short fiction. His stories have been published widely in various publications throughout the world. He has also published several crime novels.
CHARLES LANGLEY: Since returning to writing four years ago after a fifty-nine year hiatus, he has published one hundred and forty short stories, poems or articles in print magazines, ezines and books. He is now ninety years old and still being published. He lives in USA.
BILL TEITELBAUM'S stories have been published by journals such as Bayou, Crab Creek, The Oregon Literary Review, and Red Wheelbarrow, and his short play, "The Death of Saul," is just out, in the New Issues Press anthology, The Art of The One-Act. Bill lives in Lincolnwood, Illinois, a near-suburb of Chicago, USA.
KIM SLEMINT is a Kiwi now living in Denver, Colorado. Kim completed the Waikato Creative Writing course in 2005. Has had work published in Poetry NZ, JAAM, SOR, Trout, Mountain Gazette and this, Kim's first published story.
CHRIS PARSONS taught English as a second language in Japanese Colleges and Universities for six years. He works as a psychologist in schools. He lives in New Zealand and has poems published in the upcoming edition of Black Mail Press, the Otago Daily Times, Snorkel, and the Southern Ocean Review.
CHARLIE FRANCES has written and directed plays, and a collection of short stories for children. Her new found love of poetry has opened a new door to an amazing future.
ISHA WAGNER moved to Dunedin from Auckland, New Zealand where her ancestors arrived in 1880. She also writes short stories and novels and has had work published in NZ. Her collection of poems, Cuban Cocktail, was published in 2007.
MARIO MELENDEZ come from Chile and was born in 1971. His poems have appeared in different revues of Hispano-American literature and in 1993 he received the Municipal Prize of Literature in the bicentennial of Linares. In 2005 he won the Harvest International Prize for best Spanish-language poem from the University of California Polytechnic. Parts of his work have been widely translated.
CHRISTINE ONG MUSLIM'S publication credits and recent acceptances include more than four hundred stories and poems in journals and magazines worldwide, such as Bellevue Literary Review, Chronogram, Cordite Poetry Review (Australia), The Pedestal, and Turnrow.
RUTH ARNISON was born in Oamaru, New Zealand and has lived in various South Island towns since, Now settled in Dunedin with Barry and their teenage sons. Her work has previously apppeared in Takahe, and other magazines. NOEL SLOBODA is a writer currently living in Pennsylvania (US), where he teaches at Penn State York and serves as dramaturg for the Harrisburg Shakespeare Festival. His work has appeared in a variety of places, including Waterways, Tipton Poetry Journal, Ghoti, Studies in the Humanities, and Aesthetica.
BRAD EVANS was born in Sydney '71 and was placed into various educational institutions for 20 years before poetrybecame too influential in his life. While still in Oz Ico-published two chapbooks: 'Sauce & Thorn' (1996)with Andrew Shillam and 'Terse' (1997) with Martin Doy. He self-published 'and them and the jackals and the night' (2001), a complete collection of his work.
RICHARD DINGLES has an MA in literary studies from University of Iowa and he manages business systems at an insurance company. The Distillery, The Chaffin Review, The Cape Rock, Red River Review, Yalobusha Review have most recently accepted his poems for their publications.
MARTHA MORSETH has published in many magazines in NZ.1996, was second in the NZ Poetry Society's International Competition and highly commended in 1997. A recently retired teacher, Martha lives in Dunedin, New Zealand. BETTY ANN MATTHEWS lives and writes in Nelson, NZ. Her work has appeared widely.
PATRICIA PRIME: Lives in Auckland, New Zealand. Well known for her Haiku and Haliban poetry, her work has been in various anthologies, and she has edited recent anthologies.
ROB ALLAN: Rob lives and writes in Port Chalmers, Dunedin, New Zealand. Poetry is his art, writing about the 'here and now'. Published widely.
RAJOO RAMESH is a poet and short fiction writer hailing from the city of Vancouver, British Columbia. His works have previously appeared in South Ocean Review, Taj Mahal Review, Word Salad, Hudson Review, Attic Magazine and Reflections, to name a few.
TREVOR REEVES: Editor and Publisher of Southern Ocean Review and poet - writer of short stories that have appeared in print and electronic magazines widely. Recent book of poetry published "The Poetry Book to Cuddle up in Bed With"
JUDITH WOLFE lives in Dunedin, New Zealand. She is an artist, designer and sculptor. She has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand and some of her works have been in travelling exhibitions overseas. Recent exhibitions at the Empire Cinema, guest artist at the Wanaka Art Group Exhibition, August 1997 and exhibited in the Warbirds Over Wanaka air show exhibition, Easter, 1998, and the Cleveland Art Awards, Dunedin, October 1998, and 2001 Also the Columba College exhibition 1999. Two exhibitions, 2000, 2001 and 2003 at the Community Art Gallery, Dunedin NZ. Prolific book illustrator including "In the Grip of Evil" Reeves/Wolfe, History of Cobb and co and Dear Pal (stories of the Maniototo). Home Page
