      AWARENESS

      Remembrance of being,
      As aware now: always was.
      Worlds added and destroyed
      Words multiplied, divided
      Add-ons to the one.
      Talked, whispered, swallowed,
      Not uttered.
Now in a state of subtraction
      Only the mystery remains
      Unchanged in its largesse
      Unhindered by events
      That did not happen.

      Crossroads pointing varied ways
      To the nucleus of existence
As a battlefield with no winners
      As a chessboard in stalemate
As a shark turning from its prey
With love to wander in the

      Severe freedom of the essential

      Complete knowledge of the state
      A glimpse of liberty
      Solid in its reconstruction
      Chanting, after the explosion.
      Return to childhood knowing

      This is awareness, ever present
