Poems

      SUDDENLY

      And
      all at once
      out of the gathering dusk
      and
      clear against a fading light
      the sea eagle swooped low
      through rising sea mist
to skim the wine dark sea
pumping its wings suddenly to draw aloft
a writhing silver fish hooked in its talons
      all out of the gloaming
      startling
      savage
      absolute
      primordial.
