Poem

      NO WORDS

When no shapely words reach out
      To scorch the mind
I fail to see the reasoning
      of placing
      the alphabet bits into
      Certain forms that may
      Make no sense

      But who wants logic?

      And then I re-read Baudelaire
      My heart fries, hotting up
      A line appears
      Reaching into my dryness
      Enveloping me in richness

      Knowing I can never cease

      From expressing every care
      Every wave of fear

      Every forlorn despair
      Every loss and gain
      Every bitter pain
      Every nuance of futility

      Every ecstatic joy
      Every scrap of pleasure
      Every fleeting happiness

      Moving again
Oh yes, to that platinum river
Flowing swiftly to meet the ocean
      Only a breath away
      Oh how fine one feels
      How clear the head

      Uncowed by the Joker
      With the zoom lens
